Weekend Trip to Hadrian's Wall (staying in Brampton)
from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 June 2016

The most useful map is OL43 Hadrian's Wall (Haltwhistle and Hexham),
but you can download and print useful sections below ...

This is now a past outing.  Like to read about it?

General

The June weekend will once again visit Hadrian’s Wall Country, to continue with further sections of this historic walk.

For our accommodation this time, we'll be basing ourselves at the Howard Arms Hotel in Brampton, just a short distance from Carlisle, and near to a section of the Hadrian’s wall path.

This location would allow a varied choice of start and end points, and distances, to be completed depending on what you wish to do over the weekend.

An excellent bus service runs from Brampton to Carlisle and Haltwhistle, where you can pick up the AD122 bus which runs along the main section of the Wall and visits the Roman Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Fort, and can take you to other sections of the Wall.

Alternatively, the Pennine Way is also very near the start of our walk, for those of you who wish to get a section in before your week's walk ...
